The fourth of July

Pretty crappy the 4th falls on a Wednesday this year but don't think that means I won't be partaking in any red white and blue festivities. Here is what I'd hope to be wearing while spending time with friends in the sun.

Summer Picnic

Summertime calls for a picnic. And I've been craving an afternoon in the park with nothing more than a blanket, a good book, and a bottle of wine.

Happy First

Day of summer that is. Have to acknowledge. No wonder I sweated like a pig getting ready for work today. I'll leave you with a much nicer visual...

West Elm Snazziness

Snazziness..not sure if that's a word. Either way West Elm has really stepped up their game. I remember for awhile we had a store here in Kansas City but it quickly went out of business and sorry to say I wasn't surprised. I've been in their stores more recently in both Austin and Chicago and they really,  I mean really stepped it up. They had real plants (even air plants) you could buy, books, and their textiles and furniture style is much nicer than it used to be. I ordered some dish towels awhile ago I was going to make curtains out of and just ordered a duvet that I'm so excited about! Check it out...and enter the contest they have going on, yes downloading the dumb zillow app makes it worth it! Here are some of my recent favorites from West Elm:

What's been goin' on...

So what the hell have I been doing during my brief hiatus you ask? Let me tell you...
I celebrated my 27th birthday with my favorite people, enjoyed some Glace' gelato on mother's day to celebrate the best mom in the world, went to Austin for a bachelorette party. Did a golf themed pub crawl with Morgan and some peeps (more like preppy but you get the point) my pretty kitty cat, went back to Austin to visit Patrick and spend some quality time in my favorite city. Breakfast at Bacon, driving through cool neighborhoods. We took a day trip to Fredricksburg, TX a small german town with fun shops surrounded by peach farms. Did a day at Barton Springs followed by twist margs at Baby Acapulco's, ohhh and finally tried Gordough's doughnuts. Holy shit..we split a peanut butter and jelly doughnut..people- that means a jelly filled doughnut served warm with peanut butter on top and an added scoop of ice cream. Yeah. You jealous? You should be. Then back home for some quality time with Zoey and a wedding with my bud Brian that was a blast. Whew..so I guess it's been awhile.

I'm Baaaaack!

After much debate of getting rid of the Lo & Mids daily collective blog, I've secretly been missing it. And I'm back...Lo & Mids is not forever gone even though the thought crossed my mind.
